Let’s get physical – whether it be in the studio or online… The top studios offering both!

This week signals the end of restricted life! Some of us are still easing our way back into reality and others are ready and raring to get back to a bit of normality.

We’ve listed some of our favourite fitness spaces that are waiting with open arms for those of us keen to get back but also still offering an online space for those who aren’t quite ready to hit the gym floor.

1. Define London

Fancy a night at the Barre?! Define London is where it’s at!

Founded in 2016 by Celebrity Trainer, Ashley Verma, Define London is a barre fitness studio changing the perception on how to obtain your body goals.

Their unique classes use body-burning, stretching and strengthening systems to help you achieve a strong, lean, sculpted body through an evolving mix of fitness exercises, simultaneously combining strength training and cardio so not only are you burning fat you are building long lean muscle. DEFINE uses an intense mix of isometric moves whilst incorporating cardio infused sequences throughout the class to keep your metabolism high.

They offer live online classes every day and also have a library of on-demand workouts for you to do from home.

2. The Foundry

With a mission "to create a global fitness team where everyone can belong.", The Foundry is a space that encourages you to feel strong in mind and strong in body – something we LOVE here at Live Well HQ!

The Foundry gives everyone the opportunity to be trained and treated like a professional athlete within a team environment and is a results-driven fitness concept offering classes and small group personal training.

Their STRONG classes have been described as “the toughest in the city” and they certainly are some of the most popular in their on-site boutique studio at Live Well London.

Their online platform WTSB (Where the Strong Belong) Online offers both live and on-demand classes (over 300 on-demand), programmes and coaching resources – and you can get a 7-day trial to see if it’s for you!

If you want to visit in person they have locations all over the city – with sites in Bank, Vauxhall, and Old Street



3. The Refinery

Looking for a total wellbeing experience under one roof? The Refinery offers you the tools to enable you to deal with 21st Century lifestyles through the power of exercise and meditation.  They firmly believe that health, wellbeing and exercise is for every BODY and everybody should be able to access them, in a welcoming, relaxed and fun environment.

With four studios and two therapy rooms in their Hackney space they offer a wide range of Yoga, Meditation, Barre, Pilates and Fitness workouts as well as many holistic therapies that all complement each other to nourish your mind, body and soul, helping you feel connected and healthy.

Classes put a twist on your usuals so expect things like Funky Friday Flow yoga, Ballet Rebels: Buns and Guns, and 90s Dance Fit and Conditioning.

They offer online zoom classes every day, and they have also recently launched the ‘Refine with Alfi’ avatar led fitness app!

4. Digme

Achievement – its something we all look for, especially when it comes to fitness, and Digme means means achievement. Real achievement for everyone.

Although well known for their iconic cycling experiences, they also offer a blend of HIIT, strength, yoga, breathwork, outdoor and recovery classes, giving you a huge range of workouts that will help you set your sights high, achieve more than you ever expected, and leave feeling exhilarated.

They have studios all over London (7 to be precise) and one in Oxford as well as a full on demand and live online offering with their Digme at Home app – you can even rent a bike from them if you want to take part in the cycling on offer!



5. Blok

Progress your fitness, develop your skills and strengthen your mind and body with Blok!

The award-winning, independent fitness studio offers classes for all levels and specialises in Cross Discipline Training (training across at least 3 different training categories and combining disciplines).

The Cross Discipline training technique allows you to increase fitness levels, learn new skills, improve mental clarity, meet your body’s ever-changing needs and reach peak performance!

They offer training across 10 disciplines including High Intensity, Restorative, Mobility, Pilates, Strength and Conditioning, Barre and Ballet Fit, Yoga, Dance, Boxing, and Calisthenics and Handstands

They have studios in Clapton, Shoreditch and Manchester but also offer the studio experience anytime, anywhere with BlokTV providing both live and on-demand classes.
